Retreat Theme: “Listening to the Holy Spirit”

Helping discover how God has wired us to live a Spirit-empowered life.

Our annual theme is Listening to God. God is speaking to us all the time and yet we have many barriers to hearing His voice such as: false beliefs, failure to ask, lack of attentiveness, rationalism, our agenda, disobedience, unforgiveness, fear, shame, comparison, and the noise and busyness of Silicon Valley life.

Add to that the fact that many of us have grown up with a different Trinity: God the Father, Jesus the Son, and the Bible. In this retreat, we will re-acquaint ourselves with the overlooked and misunderstood third member of the Trinity - the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit speaks to us all the time and supernaturally empowers us to be like Jesus. At the same time, He will never speak to us outside the parameters of the word of God.  He is a faithful companion who cheers us on, empowers us for Jesus' mission, and reveals the truth of the Father and Son.

In this retreat, we'll learn how to become biblically grounded practitioners of the more supernatural works of the Spirit, particularly the gifts of prophecy and healing. This will not be solely lecture-oriented - we will practice using these gifts. We will fail and make mistakes and receive God's grace. We'll learn about the tension between the already and not yet in God's kingdom reign.

Finally, we'll receive equipping for how the Spirit empowers our evangelism and sends us out as supernatural missionaries.

Retreat Speakers: Alex and Hannah Absalom

The Absaloms lead Dandelion Resourcing, which empowers Christians to go and form disciple-making disciples of Jesus in supernatural ways. Originally from England, they have been in church leadership since 1994, live in Long Beach, and with their three adult sons are missionaries to the USA>
